Review: Similar to speed/death metal crossover band from the late 1980s updated with technical power riffing and a melodic influence inspired by two generations of Scandinavian metal, Aurora Borealis send an armada of high-speed sounds toward the listener. Most riffs are melodic phrases strummed at lightspeed in the style of Swedish death metal bands. In the same style that separated Kreator, broken drum patterns follow the riff more than verses, but with more speed and violence. Each song is a gratifying whole despite its variant parts. Morbid vocals change themes with explosions. Connected by commonality, the parts of these songs converge and explode, leaving a synthesis of rhythm to melody.
