Endura
Black Eden (Red Stream) 48:38
1999 CD [BUY] $14
Review: As any band explores a style in depth the perspective and breadth of musical output expands until the smallest units possible convey the most meaning through structural value. The result is highly nihilistic, in that tiny bits of melody stack up with some beats and natural sounds to make acoustic caverns of dark imagination. The large spaces and subtle introductions, often of slow-fading organic noise, that Endura use to separate thematic developments give this collection of works a restfully realistic ambience. Spaciousness arising from melody and hypnotic rhythm creates a waterlike motion to epic scenes of dreamlike symbolism. Vocals sparsely present are bass murmurings carefully textured into the background. Landscape music for the liberated and curious, this is an introduction to the promise of ambient immersion: the world of mental creation.

2. The Left Hand of the Dead
3. The Devils Stars Burn Cold
