Kadath
Cruel! (Teutonic Existence Recs) 40:36
1999 CD [BUY] $10
Review: Grindcore grows past confined extremes by layering texture in death metal style with embedded melody connecting percussive intensity to create extreme sonic trauma: Kadath. Spirited and adept music transforms origins into design injecting themes expressing existence as a changing experience, rejecting product-oriented ideas like correct ideology or correct production. Guttural throat expenditure chants synchronize songs through rhythm as drums break phrase to integrate a fill across a beat structure. Churning guitars make chromatic riffs of pure motion until melodic bridging to an anthemic chorus delivers closure. A general melodic concept regulates spaces of changing mood. As all genres must contort to escape their imitators, Kadath and Blood constitute the newest wave of grindcore bands soaring over that obstacle and inventing a disturbed and insightful new music.

Production: Muffled low-end-emphasis holds tone distinctly.
