Review: In 1985, the thrashing style that speed metal became was about to deconstruct into death metal and Sepultura alongside Possessed and Slayer changed to fast and abrupt psychedelic hardcore-metal. With dramatic expression of space between notes as a place of thematic conflict, this band illustrate dreams of terror and hope for glory that encased the age at the end of the Cold War. Escapist in fantasy and indulgence for complex structure, this release addresses concrete reality with deeply textured riffs of agile human motion. Using similar composition to a darker Slayer, these two ambitious EPs invented new styles of metal riff and structural virus. Chanted vocals with a hoarse voice like older Destruction or Massacra pace raging blast over riffs of furious fluttering powerchord strumming. In summary of a terrifying age this release sculpted death metal as an occult view of absolute change reversing the polarity of human awareness.
